Psalm 139:13-16
“Fearfully and wonderfully made”
Last Sunday our pastor preached from the Psalm 139. I have thought about this Psalm and particularly verses 13-16 kept coming to my mind. Listen to what the scripture says today:
“13 For you formed my inward parts;
you knitted me together in my mother’s womb.
14 I praise you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made.
Wonderful are your works;
my soul knows it very well.
15 My frame was not hidden from you,
when I was being made in secret,
intricately woven in the depths of the earth.
16 Your eyes saw my unformed substance;
in your book were written, every one of them,
the days that were formed for me,
when as yet there was none of them” (ESV).
These verses remind me of the following truth about who I am:
I am a unique person with gifts and abilities, given to me by God.
My life has a beginning and end on this earth and God has written each of those days in a book before I was born (v.16).
Those verses were true of King David. Those verses are true about me. Those words of scripture are true about you.
Truly, you and I are “fearfully and wonderfully made.”
