Consider the Creation
We are extremely fortunate to live in an area of the world that is so beautiful. In a short drive we can be at the coast or in the mountains. Sometimes if we pause to see it, we can be even moved by the beauty and grandeur of creation here in the midlands at sunrise or sunset.
For the past week I have been noticing the beauty of creation in a more intentional way. I had the privilege to travel to Florida and see the beauty of the gulf. As I have been surrounded by such beauty, I have been meditating on some verses in Psalm 8.
Psalm 8 says this, “When I consider Your heavens, the work of Your fingers, The moon and the stars, which you have ordained; What is man that You take thought of him, And the son of man that you care for him? (Verses 3-4, NASB).
The fact is that the beauty and complexity of creation all speak loudly of a creator, who made everything including you and me. This marvelous creation is also a reminder that God has a purpose for you and me. Our lives are not just by chance, and we are not merely a product of our environment.
God’s desire is for us to know him in a personal way for all eternity. The season of spring and of Easter remind us of new life and new birth. We celebrate at Easter that God did everything possible for us to have a relationship with him through sending his son. Jesus’ death on the cross and the empty tomb proclaim that new life is available for all who will put their trust in Jesus.
Today, I want to urge you to consider creation and to listen to the message that even created order proclaims to us about God’s marvelous love.
