I heard a sermon this morning

Most people who know me well realize I am an aggravating morning person.  I love the morning times.  I like to read and write and meditate when the day is young.

This morning I was sitting quietly with our normal morning gathering of Stephanie, Dee (Kitty) and Buster (Puppy).  It was very quiet in the house, no television, or music or talking.

Suddenly, I heard the beautiful sound of a bird singing.  The sounds was so close it had to be on our front porch right outside of where we were sitting.  His song was beautiful.  Buster ears perked up, Dee’s ears went straight up and they both looked toward the beautiful sounds coming right outside our home.

We listened in the quiet to his beautiful song.
A very familiar passage of scripture came to my mind.  In Matthew 6:26 Jesus says, “Look at the birds of the air:  they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them.  Are you not more valuable than they?”

That bird is not worried.
That bird is not anxious.
That bird is not afraid.
Because that bird has a Father in heaven that cares for him.

I read Matthew 6:26 aloud and said, “We just heard a sermon today!”  God truly is so good!  He loves and cares for us all.
