It is
a choice
I was reading Psalm 69 in my devotion time this morning. The
background of the Psalm is one of a faithful Israelite suffering for wrongs he
has done, but at the same time attackers taking advantage of the situation and
piling on his suffering and making it worse.
In the midst of this lengthy Psalm are these words that
jumped off the page to me. “I will
praise the name of God with a song; I will magnify him with thanksgiving”
(Psalm 69:30, ESV).
Praise and thanksgiving are a choice. I can make that choice in the midst of
whatever struggles I find myself in, even in the midst of a pandemic.
Today, I urge you to choose praise and thanksgiving. Praise our God with Song. Magnify his glorious name and character with
thanksgiving.
It is a choice!
